✦ The Planets

Who is acting, and for how long.

A planet opens each row of a spread and sets its own terms — how many house cards fall under it, and how long the reading remains true.

I
Introduction

Why a planet at all.

A house card names a domain — family, work, loss. It does not say in what spirit that domain is being touched. The planet does. Venus over the 7th house and Saturn over the 7th house are the same domain and opposite readings: one is a marriage of comfort, the other a marriage that waits.

Three things come from the planet and nothing else: who is driving the matter, how many house cards fall beneath it, and how long the answer stays valid. The very first planet drawn — the one that opens the Past row — sets the clock for the whole reading.

Twelve grahas.

III
Timeframe

The first planet sets the clock.

Whichever graha opens the Past row decides how far back the matter runs — and how long the prediction holds before it must be asked again.

How the date is reached. Take the reading date, subtract the first planet's timeframe, then move forward to the month named by the rashi card. That is when it lands. A Moon reading resolves within weeks; a Pluto reading is describing something that began three years ago and will take three more to finish.

Unique · combinations

Groups that change everything.

Two planets, one story.

Two grahas in the same spread say something neither says alone. Pick any two and the pair resolves.
